Faith Project
My name is Emily and I'm working on how to clearly and lovingly share my faith with others!
4/25/2017 0 Comments What's going on in my headOriginally I thought I would have a lot more time to do this project and could get a lot more done. I then realized I'm a senior and have less than a month left of high school! That's quite the terrifying thought. We are making the bathroom look nice as we can with the short time we have. I learned how to change your ideas and shape them to the circumstances which will be very important my freshman year of college. I have grown as a learner because doing handy work like the bathroom and things is not my strong suit. It's awesome to learn how to work with my hands.

4/18/2017 0 Comments Gearing UpThis week we learned more about safety. We geared up in face masks and protective googles. This made sanding a lot easier (and safer). We also made significant progress on sanding and are almost done. I think this week we are going to be getting paint and hopefully painting. We are approaching the end of the school year very quickly!4/10/2017 0 Comments SandingWe started sanding! We are prepping the stalls for paint and hopefully will get the paint soon. I'm excited with the progress we are making! It's different working with others on this project, but I really enjoy having other to share the experience with. I also could not do this project on my own.
3/28/2017 0 Comments Blog Post 17We got a new cabinet (well found one that was not so new)! We made a plan and tomorrow we start making some progress! It's really fun to work with other people on a project because I could not do this alone! I'm sorry there is not that much to talk about this week! Last week innovation class we just made a realistic plan and we're gong to be starting it. Stay tuned for pictures!
3/20/2017 0 Comments Blog Post 16This week I started a brand new project! I'm looking into interior design and how to spruce up areas of the school, particularly the upstairs girls bathroom. I've done some research on materials and it's very interesting to compare prices. I also presented on my last passion project. That project taught me how to talk to adults and work through difficulties. I'm looking forward to using my new skills in my upcoming project!
3/6/2017 0 Comments Brainstorming (Blog Post 14)I'm currently thinking of my next project! I want it to be something that impacts the school. I'm graduating in June and St. Phil has been there for some really big times in my life and I want to find a way to give back. I'm excited to see what I could do to change something. I may continue with a theme of faith because I really found my passion in sharing my faith with my last project. I'm praying and thinking about what kind of impact I want to make, and I think God will lead me to some pretty cool plans.
2/28/2017 0 Comments Wrapping UpI have my final presentation this week and I'm getting ready to start my next project! I'm so grateful for the help I got to make this project a reality and I'm looking forward to the next one.
2/6/2017 0 Comments Faith Day : What A Success!Faith day went so well! I feel unbelievably blessed with the great responses I had. Some students say it touched their heart. That was my goal to at least have one student touched. I felt God's presence that day and it was just so good. I'm just finishing up some last minute things, and I do my TED talk sometime in the next week or two.
1/10/2017 1 Comment Blog Post 9 and 10My weebly didn't save for either of these. I'm still attempting to figure out the iPad app.
Over the last two weeks, I have made significant progress. I have multiple speaker lined up, I successfully got contemporary music in the church for mass. I'm excited to help plan the music. I've been making many contacts outside of the school. I have two mentors who plan retreats helping me. It's such a blessing for so many people helping me to pull off my idea. I have had about 10 separate people helping, signing up to sing or speak, and just providing ideas. I have set up a few meetings to hammer out final details. The day is coming up quickly and I'm attempting to make the packets for the day. The theme will hopefully hit home to some of the kids. The day will be all about trusting God's plan for you in the future. I think this message is very important to kids my age. So much change is going to be happening in the next few years and hopefully this will give people a new way to look at the chaos life can become. I'm going to be picking songs, speaking with my speakers and also figuring out how to describe the day to others in the next week. I will hopefully have all the details done by the end of next week. I'm excited to see where this journey leads and truly feel God's presence as I plan a day in honor of his beautiful amazing plans. 12/19/2016 0 Comments Blog Post 8Tomorrow (12/20/16) I will be meeting with an administrator to figure out if my project is even possible. I've prepared a presentation to get it apporved and I'm excited to see if my ideas are going to get approved. Its a bit nerve racking moving from the dream like beginning idea phase to the actual action phase. It should be exciting to share my ideas though and I'm extremely excited to see the impact it has on my peers and those who really need the heart of Christ.
